![]() Romance is not a bad thing, of course, but there were a lot of other interesting things that should have been explored. That’s the thing about The Twilight Saga: Meyer had interesting ideas for its world, but they were more incidental to the romance aspects of the book. While this was definitely lore fans would have appreciated earlier on, rather than being introduced in the final book (along with “Immortal Children”), it was still an interesting fleshing out of the world. It’s something that didn't sit well with many fans when the novel was released, let alone years later.Įven so, the concept of half-vampires remained an interesting one. The character herself didn’t lend much in the way of personality, though she was a cause of controversy amongst fans, in particular when Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) imprinted on her. The addition of Renesmee Cullen (Mackenzie Foy), Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward’s (Robert Pattinson) daughter, was a pretty bold move for The Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer. In film and television especially, adding in a child can change the dynamic of the series, whether for better or worse. That'd be awesome.Adding children into a well-established property can be a bit tricky. I mean, imagine Twilight hearing about this "Principal Prieto" and not knowing that she's Celestia's counterpart until she meets her. She keeps Prieto from it sounding like principal and princess, even though it doesn't quite fit her with "dark." It still sounds appropriate though. Oh well! Anyway, Celeste is an actual name that sounds a LOT like Celestia. Anyone ever notice that all the non-Twilight alicorns have human-sounding names? (Cadance, Celestia, Luna?) Hmm, might indicate something in Equestria about human-sounding names being more regal or superior or something. Last name sounds like principal and princess all in one, and it means "dark." Her first name stays the same as it's already fine the way it is. Seidman was just a random name I found that actually sounds good with Flynn, with the addition of ending with "man" indicating he's one of the few male characters around. Flynn makes me think of flight, and well, he IS a pegasus. Shields sounds like Shimmer and gives me this sort of upright, uptight feel. Samantha seems like it can belong to both a bitchy high school girl and a nice one, reflecting kind of her duality in the movie when she reforms. Something I came up with at the top of my head that really kind of fits her personality in my opinion. aptness, grace, becomingness, suitableness. However, upon further dictionary inspection, this is revealed: 2. Felicity sounds like her original name, which is the first reason I picked it. Regina is the perfect name for Rarity as it has this formal vibe of royalty and class, which is very much her. Also, bonus points for last name being animal-related. A shrew makes me think of just this timid little creature and berry helps it sound cute. Her last was a name I found on a last names site that I thought was PERFECT for her. Fluttershy - Fleur Shrewsberry. The first name is for Fluttershy's preference of French coteur, as well as the fact that it means "flower," sounds like her original name, and has this sort of gentle feel to it.Also helps that it makes me think of Sailor Mars, which has a Rainbow Dashish personality. Rae is a short brief name that really fits her, the only name I've managed to find that sounds like her original name and does that as well. It makes sense that as a human, she'd have a name that stands out. It sounds kind of foreign, kind of weird, but Rainbow Dash has always been the pony to stand out the most with her rainbow mane. Also, Patricia is a stand-in for Pinkamina. A silly-sounding name that is not only alliterated like her original name, but flows in this kind of ridiculous sort of way. Pinkie Pie - Patricia "Patty" Patricks. It has this all-American feel as well which Applejack exudes with her Southern accent. A kind of gender neutral name that really fits her. It sounds like a nerdy girl's name in some kind of children's book. Twilight Sparkle/Tina Sparks (She would have to make up a name) I really can't do better than Tina Sparks as an alias for her.
